Hello MIUIers , Hope you enjoying MIUI 8 services. Xiaomi rollout MIUI 8 stable from 23 August. Many users update their Xiaomi mobile with MIUI 8 Stable. If you are still on MIUI 7 then please update MIUI 8 Stable in your Xiaomi Mobile. You found awesome new features in MIUI 8 like long Screenshots, Second Space, dual app, colour notes, hide notes feature, new gallery experience, new call interface, new phonebook style, new calculator, new toggle style etc. you feel an awesome experience when you use MIUI 8.
Today we talk about Toggle bar function which is redesigned in MIUI 8 by Developers. However, the new look is cool but some users don’t like this for many reasons. Even personally, I also don’t like this new look. But wait this is Xiaomi, here we have the option to use old style toggle bar or newly designed toggle bar. So if you friendly with old style toggle then you can switch old style toggle bar where you can read your notifications in a separate section.
Steps to get MIUI 7 Toggle style in MIUI 8 :
This is not too hard to get your old toggle style in your newly updated MIUI 8.
Follow below steps to get old toggle style in MIUI 8 :
- Go to settings
- Tap on Notifications & status bar.
- Tap on Notifications & toggles layout.
- A popup option appear, Select Separate option.
- All set, done.
After following above simple steps your toggle style changed to old MIUI 7 style. Now you can see your notifications in a separate section. These steps work for all Xiaomi devices no matter which you are using like Redmi 1S, Redmi 2 / Prime, Redmi 3S / Prime, Redmi note 3, Redmi note 4G, Mi 2, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi 5 etc.
Here you can also set toggle icons positions and control notifications. here you can set custom operator name. easily show internet speed on the top bar.Control battery indicator etc.
So there is no need to switch back for MIUI 7, if you don’t like new toggle layout then simply change toggle layout to separate section, which gives you previous MIUI 7 feelings.

New notification bar takes colour based on your weather. Is there a way to disable this?

Thanks for writing here. As of now, there is no option to control toggle bar colour. Colour comfortability already reported for third party apps text in the notification bar.

Now when I pass my finger to expand the toogle bar the notifications come first. Is there anyway to change de default bar to the shortcuts bar? Thanks

however, you can use themes to control the color.
