How to install Gimp in Linux:


Step 1: Open you terminal via ctrl+alt+t

Step 2: Type the following commands in terminal
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gimp

Step 3: After the above commands terminal ask for additional disk space. type “Y” for yes. and you see the installation process is start image look like this:

Your Gimp installation work is done. now your system ready to use Gimp services.

How to Launch Gimp in Linux:

There are two ways to launch Gimp.
First Way : Open your terminal and type following command in terminal:
gimp

Second Way: Go to Application Menu then select the Graphics Sub Menu and Click on the GNU Image Manipulation Program 



You can use both ways to launch Gimp on your system.Image look like this:

Click on File to Load a image via Open option. you can also create a new file

How to Change image size pixels in Linux:

Photoshop tool are useful for professionals. and we all know that everyone is not interested in Photoshop. But Gimp is also useful as a normal image editor. The main problem is occurred when, some one  want to re size an image for particular purpose like Exam form image,Thumb impression Scan. then what they done their work on Linux, So don’t worry Linux is here. Follow these steps to change image size
step 1: Launch the Gimp. 
Step 2: Load your image in Gimp.
Step 3:After the load image Click on Image option From the menu. and click the  Scale Image Option. image look like this:
Step 4:After click on Scale Image. A pop up window appear on your desktop, customize your pixel via this windows and click on Scale button.

Your image Re sizing is done.
