So as expected, Xiaomi finally launched Redmi Note 4 with SD 625 in 3 different model & on a positive side, I expected the same thing in one of my previous post. However, many of users were expecting it to be equipped with SD 653 but Xiaomi surprised users with a downgraded SoC (in terms of performance) but it’s proven that SD 625 is a battery efficient & it’s performance is kinda close to SD 650, which our beloved RN3 houses.
There are 3 models as follows:
1- 2GB + 32GB = INR 9999.
2- 3GB + 32GB = INR 10999.
3- 4GB + 64GB = INR 12999.
And from this we can say that Xiaomi nailed it again in terms of pricing & yet again proved that they are kind of a king in budget segment.
But this launch has confused a lot of users, who are planning to buy a new phone or upgrade from their Redmi Note 3 or similar phone. So I am making this post for you, so that you can help yourself with making a wise decision about, ‘Whether you should buy/upgrade to RN4 & if YES, then which RN4 will be the best one?”

1- Upgrade from RN3.
So if you own a RN3 2GB version from more than 6 months then you can surely upgrade to RN4 3GB or 4GB variant as per your budget. Going for 2GB version of RN4 is surely a waste as MIUI doesn’t seems to be good on a device with 2GB RAM. But if you are using RN3 3GB version then upgrading it will be a stupidity as after the launch of RN3, resale price of RN3 will be down & you need to add more money to get at least 3GB variant of RN4, which isn’t a fair deal at all. (Plus, if you have recently brought RN3 then don’t even think of upgrading as you will be in total loss)

2- Redmi Note 4 2GB + 32GB.
I personally wont suggest you to go with this variant of RN4 due to it’s RAM as MIUI is such a curse for 2GB RAM phones. If you are a multi-tasker, who switched between various apps on the go then you shouldn’t buy this. But if you are someone who need a phone for basic call, texts & few normal games, social apps occasionally, then you can’t find a better deal than this.

3- Redmi Note 4 3GB+32GB.
This phone is for a person, who was about to buy RN3 3Gb variant but waited for RN4 launch, then go ahead & buy RN4 3GB+32GB version without any further thinking. However, with a minor loss in terms of raw performance, RN4 will surpass RN3 in terms of camera (a big flaw of RN3), build (may be) & battery for sure.

4- Redmi Note 4 4GB+64GB.
This is more like an all rounder device for those who want a good Xiaomi device under 15K price bracket, with an equally good processor, battery backup & improved camera as presented, it has Sony/Samsung sensor. (For proper camera results, one should wait for reviews by trusted reviewers)

Regarding color choice, all 3 colors are good as per preference/taste. Matte black seems to be a great addition, giving this phone a premium feel & I am quite sure that most of us will go for black so expect it to be OOS soon. xD

Overall, RN4 is a worthy device & will definitely proves that in coming months with their sales. Hopefully, Xiaomi has enough stock to offer in these sales. However on paper, RN4 is no where an upgrade over RN3, but with a better power efficient processor, better camera, metal build & reasonable pricing; it kill every phone out there in market under 15K price bracket.
