SIM card Contacts not Showing in Xiaomi – Solved (Redmi & Mi Mobiles)

Hello MIUIers, hope you are doing well. Today we talk about SIM card contacts visibility in Mi phones. Many new users which just bought the Mi phone, Face this problem. This is really terrible situation because you have a new phone but from the first day, you face this problem. Even many users raise a replacement request because of this problem, They think that might be their new phone is defected. Please don’t think like this. Xiaomi always provide a better build quality with proper testing. This is a small problem which is easily solved via following some steps.

This Contact not showing error can appear in any Xiaomi device. No matter which is Redmi 1s, Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 3s, Redmi 3s Prime, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi note 3, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi5, Mi 5plus, Mi Max, Mi Mix etc. SIM Contacts problem does not depend on MIUI versions. Steps to Solve SIM contacts visibility problem in Xiaomi devices:

As i already said this is not an error,  This is phone functionality, By default Xiaomi device always show only phone contacts in phonebook. If you want to SIM contacts in mobile phonebook then you need to enable SIM contacts visibility under contact settings.

Follow below steps to show SIM Contacts in Phonebook Xiaomi Mobiles (Redmi & Mi series) :

1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap on System Apps under Device section.
3. Tap on Contacts.
4. Now choose Display preferences.
5. Enable Show SIM Contacts option.
6. All set, Done.

After following above steps you SIM contacts easily visible in your phonebook. All given steps performed on MIUI 8. If you are on MIUI 7 then find contacts app in settings and perform operations which we share in above steps.

How to Transfer SIM contacts in Phone memory (Phonebook) Xiaomi:

Its depend on users what he wants. We always says, Save your all contacts in phone memory and assosiate with Mi account. Now enable Mi Sync, Your all contact data saved on Mi Cloud. Now Enjoy your life without worry. You can recover you contacts any time when you want.
For Copy your contacts from SIM to phone, Just go to Contacts app via Setting and Choose Import/Export option. Here you get al options like Import from SIM 1 to phonebook. SIM 2 to Phonebook OR Phonebook to SIM 1, Phonebook to SIM 2 etc.

So we can say Contacts visibility always depends on phonebook settings. So not blame your phone manufacturer because of this small issue.  You can also block outgoing calls with selected numbers in your MIUI device.
