This is really terrible situation because you have a new phone but from the first day, you face this problem. This Contact not showing error can appear in any Xiaomi device. Steps to Solve SIM contacts visibility problem in Xiaomi devices:
As i already said this is not an error, This is phone functionality, By default Xiaomi device always show only phone contacts in phonebook. If you want to SIM contacts in mobile phonebook then you need to enable SIM contacts visibility under contact settings.
Follow below steps to show SIM Contacts in Phonebook Xiaomi Mobiles (Redmi & Mi series) :
Go to Settings.
Tap on System Apps under Device section.
Tap on Contacts.
Now choose Display preferences.
Enable Show SIM Contacts option.
All set, Done.
After following above steps you SIM contacts easily visible in your phonebook. All given steps performed on MIUI 8. If you are on MIUI 7 then find contacts app in settings and perform operations which we share in above steps.
How to Transfer SIM contacts in Phone memory (Phonebook) Xiaomi:
Its depend on users what he wants. We always says, Save your all contacts in phone memory and assosiate with Mi account. Now enable Mi Sync, Your all contact data saved on Mi Cloud. Now Enjoy your life without worry. You can recover you contacts any time when you want.
For Copy your contacts from SIM to phone, Just go to Contacts app via Setting and Choose Import/Export option. Here you get al options like Import from SIM 1 to phonebook. SIM 2 to Phonebook OR Phonebook to SIM 1, Phonebook to SIM 2 etc.
